Penguin Unit

We just completed a unit of study about Penguins!

The picture above is of a game that the students
played on Friday.  It is called, Feed The Penguin!
They used goldfish snacks to try to hit the target,
which was the beak of the penguin.  This was a
fun way to end the hard week of learning!

These are some of the kinds of penguins that we researched and studied about during the week.  Did you know that there are 17 different kinds of penguins?

We also compared and contrasted Penguins and Birds....

Way to go Tanner C. for giving an awesome
explaination of this activity in class!

Tailey was the leader for today!

Reading Buddies w/ 3rd Graders

Third grade students reading to Kindergarten!

Students love to be with their buddies.

                    Having great fun together.

                      Must be a good book!

                 Something in the book looks
                       very interesting!

Snowman writing!

This is an activity that we did using shaving cream and glue.  The students got to mix the two items, plop it on the paper and then decorate.  They used beans for the eyes, buttons, pipe cleaner for the mouth and construction paper for the hat and nose.  They let them dry overnight and then wrote about their snowman the next day.  We have a lot of PRETTY snowmen!  Some of these girls would have painted the end of the sticks for the fingernails if I would have let them.  Hope you enjoy the pictures and writing!
